The role requirements are detailed below. Please contact us if you would like this application form in an alternative accessible format.
We are passionate about supporting victims and survivors of modern slavery and we cannot do this without the help of skilled people like you.
The Salvation Army’s Survivor Support Service works alongside governmental (statutory) and non-governmental services by providing practical and holistic support to survivors of modern slavery. Through CONNECT, we support people on their journey from victim to survivor.
We are looking for volunteers to help run daytime support sessions for 3-4 hours each week. These sessions offer a range of support to female survivors as they move forward and establish life in Nottingham. This includes support to access services (eg housing, benefits, education, language lessons), practical activities and educational workshops.
The CONNECT programme provides survivors with a friendly environment to create new life skills, make local connections and receive move-on support. This builds a foundation for continued support which positively impacts clients’ health and wellbeing.
As one of our volunteers, you will receive specialised training and regular support.
Role: Drop-In Volunteer
Location: Nottingham based - further details of the location will be given to successful applicants
Commitment: Preferred 12-month commitment period. Must be available to attend the initial training.
This post is available to female applicants only.
If you would like to discuss this opportunity further, please contact Clare Buckby on clare.buckby@salvationarmy.org.uk.
We are a faith-based organisation but our programmes are open to all. We do not require our staff or volunteers to have a faith but to support the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
