Working as part of a team and being responsible to the support staff supervisor, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that the laundry/cleaning within the home is properly maintained to a high standard including attention to matters of health & safety and hygiene regulations.
The main duties & responsibilities include:Laundry: Washing and ironing of resident clothing, Laundering house linen such as bedding and kitchenware, Collection of laundry from within the home and returning to rightful place, Maintaining equipment and laundry areas to a high standard of health and safety.
Cleaning Ensure all designated areas are thoroughly cleaned, all equipment is used and stored as necessary. Ensure regular checks of equipment and report any deficiencies. Carry out extra spring/deep cleaning tasks as required.
You may from time to time be asked to cover catering general assistant duties in line with the requirements of the home, and subject to necessary training for the role.
You will need good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working with older people, some of whom are living with Dementia. Ability to work comfortably in a Christian environment, operate within professional boundaries and within Older People Services Values are necessary prerequisites for the post.
You must have a good attendance record and be of smart appearance. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of COSHH, the Ability to lone work and under pressure, a flexible approach and good time keeping skills.
Training will be provided.
