What you'll be doing:• To build good working relationships with clients based on mutual respect and trust.• To offer signposting support to clients.• To be able to work as part of a team.• To support team leader in safeguarding and protecting vulnerable adults.• To be open to the understanding that prayer will happen at different points throughout outreach.• To always have time for de-briefing after the outreach.• To contribute to maintaining outreach records.• To ensure that lone-working telephone support is in place before going on outreach.• To ensure you are aware of the agreed-upon safe sentence before going on outreach.• To attend a supervision every 3 months with the team leader.• To read and adhere to the Volunteer Code of Conduct and Handbook outlines.
Skills/experience needed:• Interest in the Salvation Army’s work.• Ability to work as part of a team.• Willingness to build meaningful professional relationships with clients and stakeholders. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of the activities on outreach.• Good listening and empathy skills.• Enthusiasm and energetic.• Reliable• Awareness of safeguarding and health & safety issues.• Training in first-aid would be desirable (full training is provided) • DBS clearance• Complete Faith House volunteers training & induction
Commitment: we are looking for a minimum commitment of 2 hours a week and who can assist outside of working hours. The outreach shifts takes place on Fridays between 10pm and 12am.

Our Tuesday session includes dance, songs, games and free play, and our Thursday session is a free-play session. Our sessions are open to all with children below primary school age.

We’re looking for individuals to take responsibility for organising books in the charity shop. Our shop enables us to generate income to provide services and support to those in our local community that need it.
