The Salvation Army Anti-Trafficking & Modern Slavery International Team are looking for a Reseach Volunteer to support on two projects. Please see the attached role description to find out more!
This role can be completed remotely with weekly supervision via Microsoft Teams.
We are flexible on a commitment, but at least 4 hours per week for a period of at least 6 months (can be more hours if you wish!)

Many people are struggling to pay their bills and put food on the table and more and more people are coming to us for help. Our Debt Advice Team in Dunstable are looking for caring and reliable volunteers who can offer extra support to help develop clients' budgeting skills.

Are you keen to put your digital skills to good use or gain practical experience in social media to support future career aspirations? This voluntary role will provide practical support to the Salvation Army's Employment Plus service based in Angus and Dundee, by initiating and growing our online presence. Keep all of our digital platform accounts fresh, exciting and up-to-date. Help promote Employment plus activities including volunteer recruitment.
Commitment: Time commitment is around 2 hours per week and will be agreed with the EDC responsible for regions.
Location: Forfar, Angus. Role can be done remotely.

If so, we’d love to hear from you. We are passionate about supporting people who have been affected by debt with practical support at a local level. We cannot do this without the help of compassionate and committed volunteers.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support people with the steps towards a debt-free life.
You’ll need great communication skills and lots of empathy. You may have interview skills and or customer service experience and being comfortable with IT would be useful.
It is important in this role to put the client at ease in order to get a full understanding of their financial situation so the ability to carefully listen whilst taking detailed notes is important.
As one of our volunteers, you will receive specialised training and regular support from our Debt Advice team. We are a faith based organisation and our programmes are open to all. We do not require our staff or volunteers to have a faith but to support our mission and values.
Role: Volunteer Debt Adviser (please check role description for more information)
Volunteer debt advisers work with people who are struggling to pay off debt. They help their clients to find ways to repay debt affordably and provide advice on dealing with the impacts of debt. Volunteers will assist with general administration as well as with the running of the budget training course.
